چکیده
Selenosugars are a group of sugar derivatives great structural diversity (e.g., molar masses, selenium oxidation state, and binding), obtained as result biosynthesis, chemical modification natural compounds, or synthesis. Seleno-monosaccharides disaccharides known to be non-toxic products the metabolism compounds in mammals. In case selenium-containing polysaccharides origin, their formation is also postulated form detoxification excess microorganisms, mushroom, plants. The valency can be: 0 (encapsulated nano-selenium), IV (selenites polysaccharides), II (selenoglycosides built into ring replace oxygen). interest Se-polysaccharides results from expected synergy between polysaccharides. Several plant- mushroom-derived potent macromolecules with antitumor, immunomodulatory, antioxidant, other biological properties. Selenium, trace element fundamental importance human health, has been shown possess several analogous functions. mechanism by which exerts anticancer immunomodulatory activity differs that polysaccharide fractions, but similar pharmacological effect suggests possible these two agents. Various functions have explored, including immune-enhancement, antidiabetic, anti-inflammatory, hepatoprotective, neuroprotective activities. Due being much less toxic than inorganic potential dietary supplements could used, e.g., chemoprevention.

Indole Alkaloids of the Stigonematales (Cyanophyta): Chemical Diversity, Biosynthesis and Biological Activity
The cyanobacteria are well recognized as producers of a wide array of bioactive metabolites including toxins, and potential drug candidates. However, a limited number of taxa are generally considered with respect to both of these aspects. That said, the order Stigonematales, although largely overlooked in this regard, has become increasingly recognized as a source of bioactive metabolites relev...
متن کاملPropolis volatile compounds: chemical diversity and biological activity: a review
Propolis is a sticky material collected by bees from plants, and used in the hive as building material and defensive substance. It has been popular as a remedy in Europe since ancient times. Nowadays, propolis use in over-the-counter preparations, "bio"-cosmetics and functional foods, etc., increases. Volatile compounds are found in low concentrations in propolis, but their aroma and significan...
متن کاملSelenium-containing enzymes in mammals: Chemical perspectives
The chemical and biochemical route to the synthesis of the 21st amino acid in living systems, selenocysteine, is described. The incorporation of this rare amino acid residue into proteins is described with emphasis on the role of monoselenophosphate as selenium source. The role of selenocysteine moiety in natural mammalian enzymes such as glutathione peroxidase (GPx), iodothyronine deiodinase (...
